The Church of the Nazarene in Brazil began as 12 people at a worship service in Campinas, Brazil. Now, 60 years later, the church has grown to more than 190,000 members across 600 churches throughout the country.
In an area where approximately 30 percent of the population lives below the poverty level, True Light Church of the Nazarene is creating safe spaces for women and children. Their ministries include a day shelter, a public computer center, a clothing closet, a diaper distribution center, and community breakfasts.
El Caujaro Church of the Nazarene in Venezuela overcame many obstacles to successfully plant a church-type mission in an unreached neighborhood as part of the South America Region’s Living the Great Commission initiative.
