Welcome to the official Web page of the Board of General Superintendents for the Church of the Nazarene. We are dedicated to the mission of making Christlike disciples in the nations through our ministry and administrative responsibilities in 159 world areas. We share the message of salvation through Jesus Christ—the answer to all the world’s needs—and a life of holiness made possible through the Holy Spirit. You are invited to utilize all the resources on nazarene.org to learn more about our denomination. It is our privilege to serve Christ and His Church.
General superintendent is the highest elected office within the Church of the Nazarene. Each of the six general superintendents is elected to a four-year term. The general superintendents’ primary responsibilities include providing supervision, guidance, and motivation for the general church; interpreting the law and doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene; having primary authority with regard to issues of theology, ordination, and mission strategy; and the nomination, appointment, or approval of candidates for various positions within the denomination, including missionary and district superintendent. For more, see paragraphs 317–324 of the Church of the Nazarene Manual.
